Two Chess Grandmasters to play 30+ chess players Sunday at the Galt
Chess Grandmasters Eric Hansen and Robin van Kampen will be in Lethbridge on Sunday, March 30 from 1:00 - 4:00 pm at the Galt Museum & Archives.
Eric will be playing 30+ adults and junior chess players simultaneously.
The public is invited to come and watch this chess spectacle.
Doors open at 1:00 pm and the simultaneous games will begin at 1:20 pm (until 2:50 pm).
Robin van Kampen will discuss chess strategy, positions, and tactics following the simul event.
3:00 - 3:30 pm Robin will discuss chess positions, games, and tactics - his choice.
3:30 - 4:00 pm Robin and Eric will take questions and have open discussion with the chess players in attendance.
All players are welcome! Drop-in players are welcome but should email andy@andydavies.ca to guarantee a board. The fee to play will be $10 for adults and free for junior players. For more information on this and on the Lethbridge Open taking place April 5-6, go to www.lethbridgechess.ca.

Background
Eric Hansen (FIDE 2587) is from Calgary and credits his junior high chess club with his start in chess. A Canadian Chess Champion, Eric is currently living in Europe, playing chess full time. He continues to improve and get stronger on the European stage.

Robin van Kampen (FIDE 2603) is a chess prodigy from The Netherlands. He and Eric are friends and both based in Holland while they play the European circuit of tournaments.
