Mr. Way Leong in a 1932 photograph. Leong way came to Canada in 1892 when he was just 14 years old. He came to Lethbridge in 1926 and opened the Bow On Tong, or the Good Health Store on 2 Ave. Over the next few decades, he ran his store and raised his 24 children. The Bow On Tong became a social gathering place in Chinatown, and the Leong family became spokespeople for the community. The Bow On Tong can still be seen on 2 Ave and Leong's descendants continue to call the area home.
