Science Activities at this Year's Eggstravaganza

The Easter Bunny has fluffed its ears and polished it’s teeth and is ready to pose with visitors large and small at the Galt Museum & Archives Eggstravaganza on Saturday, March 30 from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm, where science-based crafts are in keeping with the featured exhibit: Canadian Science & Engineering Hall of Fame, open for exploration too.

“Kids and their families can expect an eggcellent time at this year’s event,” says Chris Roedler, Resource Development & Volunteer Coordinator at the Galt Museum & Archives. “There will be a variety of Easter craft stations where children can use their imaginations to create masterpieces. We will look at the science of egg dyes, and kids will have a chance for experimentation by building a secure container to see if their egg will withstand a fall. And of course the Easter bunny will be there, so don’t forget your cameras!”

Admission to Eggstravaganza is free for adults and ages 1 and under; $4 per child ages 1+, $3 for children ages 1+ of annual pass holders. The Galt Museum will be closed on Easter Sunday, but is open from 1:00 – 5:00 pm on both Good Friday and Easter Monday, and from 10:00 am – 5:00 pm on Saturday, March 30.

The special exhibit Canadian Science & Engineering Hall of Fame, organized and circulated by Canada Science and Technology Museum, closes Sunday, May 19. Its local showing is made possible in part by funding support from the Department of Canadian Heritage.
