NEW KIWANIS CLUB PARTNERSHIP WITH THE GALT MEANS WEEKLY FAMILY PROGRAM NOW OFFERED YEAR-ROUND

Lethbridge – The Galt Museum & Archives is pleased to announce a new partnership with the Green Acres Kiwanis Club of Lethbridge supporting the Galt’s weekly Saturdays at 1:00 family program, allowing it to be offered year-round instead of taking the usual summer break.

Paul Henderson, President of the Green Acres Kiwanis Club, says the Club is looking forward to the partnership. “Our sponsorship, which will help run the program, goes beyond covering the cost of supplies to hands-on involvement.”

Projects for the interactive Saturdays at 1:00 program, designed for families with children aged 3-12, are based on the historical and cultural themes in the Galt’s special and permanent exhibits.

Kiwanis International is a global organization of volunteers dedicated to changing the world one child and one community at a time, sponsoring 150,000 service projects each year. Locally, the Green Acres Kiwanis Club provides ongoing support to lunch programs at various Lethbridge and area schools, and most recently helped fund the Nicholas Sheran Educational Playground in Lethbridge.
