LOCAL HISTORY TOLD IN EVENING CEMETERY TOURS
2012 Cemetery Tours by Flashlight Tickets now available
All you need is your flashlight and your curiosity to join the Galt Museum & Archives at the annual Cemetery Tours by Flashlight, where you can expect to be engaged, moved, fascinated, unsettled, surprised and definitely more aware of the history of southern Alberta – all the while learning fascinating tales of some of the people who don’t get to leave the cemetery at the end of the tour.
Two 50-minute tours are planned for Friday October 5 and again on Saturday October 6 at 8:00 and 9:00 pm.
Three 50-minute tours will be offered on Friday October 12, Saturday October 13, and Friday October 19 at 8:00, 9:00 and 10:00 pm.
A limited number of tickets are available for each tour – this is a popular program which sells out each year. Tickets are now available at the Galt Museum Store only at a cost of $5/person, or $4 each for annual pass holders. Tickets must be paid for at time of ordering. Phone orders are accepted, call 403.320-3954.
Ticket holders meet at the St. Patrick’s Cemetery gates on far west end of 6 Avenue North. Be sure to dress warmly, wear good sturdy walking shoes, bring along a flashlight and, just maybe, somebody to hold hands with!
