Get on the Galt’s Get Outta Town 2014 Bus Tours

Presented with Red Arrow Motorcoach | Waterton JUN 21 | Hutterite Colony AUG 09

The Galt Museum & Archives Get Outta Town Summer Bus Tours presented with Red Arrow Motorcoach leaves on June 21 for the Waterton Wildflower Festival and on August 7 for a Hutterites & History tour. Bring a friend to learn the history of the area from our expert guides, immerse yourself in local stories, meet fascinating characters and indulge in fabulous local food.

“We’re looking forward to working with traditional Métis guide Brenda Holder and, for the second year, Lyndon Penner for our Waterton tour,” enthuses Leslie Hall, Community Program Coordinator at the Galt. “The people at the Hutterite colony we work with every year always provide a great experience for our guests, and Red Arrow Motorcoach has been a perfect partner for the Get Outta Town Bus Tours; reviews from last year say it is an absolutely fantastic experience!”

John Stepovy, General Manager at Red Arrow Motorcoach, says "This summer is going to be terrific! There is so much to see and do in this beautiful province. The Galt Museum & Archives Get Outta Town Bus Tours is partnering with Red Arrow again and we couldn't be happier. It's so much fun to share southwestern Alberta historic sites with our passengers and to hear about their adventures. We hope everyone enjoys this year’s getaway. My team at Red Arrow looks forward to making sure everyone gets safely home."

Two tours are scheduled for June 21 and August 09:

Sat JUN 21 | 8:00 am – 6:00 pm Waterton Wildflower Festival [full-day tour]  $95/person +GST

The tour begins as we interpret the history en route to Waterton National Park for two fabulous programs at the Waterton Wildflower Festival: a morning Wildflower Walk with Metis guide Brenda Holder and an afternoon Wildflower Walk with gardener and CBC columnist Lyndon Penner. There will be a short time at lunch for you to visit the town site.

NOTE: nature walks are on unpaved pathways/dirt trails.  Must be able to stand and walk at a gentle pace for 2 hours at a time.  Lunch venue has stairs and no elevator.

Sat AUG 09 | 9:00 am – 2:00 pm Hutterites & History [half-day tour] $50/person +GST

Why do southern Alberta Hutterites dress the way they do? How do they live? Learn about Hutterite history and culture over pastries and coffee at the Galt, followed by a behind-the-scenes tour of the modern Wilson Hutterite Colony, and enjoy a home cooked lunch with the community.

NOTE: Pathways are gravel or wooden sidewalks. Lunch venue accessed via short flight of stairs (approx. 5 stairs).
