Public Transit is an important component of our society. It has the ability to influence our environmental impact, the accessibility or lack thereof for various people in the communities which it serves, and can be a major component of economic sustainability. This presentation will delve into the history of transit planning and the challenges that it has faced in an effort to make clear why we need to take significant steps in revamping the way we look at transit as well as how we plan and fund it.
