What’s the Story?
Overview
Curious about history? Come to the Galt Museum & Archives for a fun and interactive workshop that dives into historical inquiry. Students will learn how to create their own historical inquiry projects for Heritage Fair or their classroom activities. Students will explore Discovery Hall to find potential topics that inspire their curiosity. They will practice identifying and creating inquiry questions. They will visit the archives to learn about the research process, including how to gather and analyze evidence from historical sources to support their findings and conclusions. Students will also examine and evaluate sample projects.
This program is designed as a starting off point for Heritage Fair projects and/or other inquiry-based classroom projects. Additional teacher and student resources to support the development of projects are found here: https://www.canadashistory.ca/education/heritage-fairs-and-young-citizens
