“I am proud to be part of this Community. My father was a farmer outside of Coaldale and sponsored many families after WWII. He also bought one of the oldest ranches in Pincher Creek and I learned to thin out and harvest sugar beets on the farm and helped with the cattle on the farm and ranch.”

“I am a volunteer at the Galt Museum and did many tours of the building and am also a member of The Friends of The Galt."

“I’ve had the heart of Southern Alberta pumping for almost 75 years. Born in Coaldale, raised in Pincher Creek, had my children in Lethbridge, and am now spending my senior years looking around me wondering where all the time has gone. In the end, when I think about the community that I’ve always been surrounded by, it wasn’t about who was right or who won, it was about standing shoulder to shoulder in the trenches and pushing together toward a peaceful world.

"Anyone who has lived a life on the Prairies, knows that without community, the fields become barren.

“My father was an immigrant from Yugoslavia and because of Community he was able to prosper. he was then able to sponsor immigrants from war torn countries after WWII when we lived on a farm north of Coaldale. I became a volunteer at the Galt Museum so that I could become part of the community and worked hard to become familiar with that beautiful building and its history. I have given many tours of the Galt Museum and also volunteered for many activities offered to the community. I also am on the board of The Friends of the Galt who also contribute to the community."

“My father immigrated to southern Alberta in the early 1900’s. Because of community he prospered and eventually bought a farm north of Coaldale. He sponsored many immigrants from war-torn countries after WWII.

Years ago, I became a volunteer at the Galt Museum to become involved in this community. It has been my honour to enter this building, give tours to the families of our community and serve on Friends of the Galt board."
