Call for Submissions for "3D Sculpture Show"

Deadline Friday SEPTEMBER 06, 2013 | ArtWalk Exhibit runs SEP 27-29, 2013

Lethbridge – Artists living in Southwestern Alberta are invited to submit a three-dimensional art piece for consideration in the Galt Museum & Archives’ ArtWalk 3 Dimensions Sculpture Show taking place Friday, September 27 through Sunday, September 29, 2013.

In order to be considered for display, artwork must be three-dimensional, any media (including multi-media), stable and secure, ready to hang or display, no taller than 8 feet | 2.43 meters, with a maximum width or diameter of 3 feet | 0.9 meters.

The Galt has a limited supply of bases, or plinths, of varying heights and sizes available.  Artists should indicate if they will require one, and the ideal size.  The Galt will endeavour to accommodate these requests for works selected for inclusion. Artists may also supply their own plinths.

A photograph or conceptual drawing of one or maximum two pieces, along with an artist’s statement (200 words maximum), label information (title, date, media, artist’s name as it will be printed on the label), unique display considerations, and the estimated value of the piece must be submitted by Friday, September 6, 2013 to:

ALBERTA CULTURE DAYS: Alberta Culture Days began in 2008 as Alberta Arts Day, a one-day event to recognize the value of Alberta's arts and cultural communities. Since then, it has expanded into a vibrant, three-day, province-wide celebration that has helped inspire the creation of Culture Days - a pan-Canadian movement to raise the awareness, accessibility, participation and engagement of all Canadians in the arts and cultural life of their communities.
