Harvest Barn Dance at the Galt Museum & Archives

Lethbridge – Get your dancing boots on and help bring students to experience southern Alberta history and cultures.

This fall, the Friends of the Galt Museum & Archives are hosting their popular, family-friendly fundraiser, the Friends Harvest Barn Dance, featuring the talents of the Great Canadian Barn Dance Band. The dance will be a “rollicking” affair. The doors will open at 7 pm and the event will continue to 11 pm. The exhibits and discovery hall will be open, and there will be a late lunch of beef on a bun served from 9 pm onwards. A cash bar will also be available throughout the night with coffee, tea, pop, beer and wine for sale.

This event is a fundraiser that helps teachers and students attend the Galt and take advantage of our excellent educational programs.

“The Great Canadian Barn Dance Band is heading for Lethbridge for an "Out of Barn" experience.” Says Trevor Kunkel, Owner/Manager of the Great Canadian Barn Dance, “We are so excited to be back at the Galt Museum to help co-host and play some great music for this terrific fundraiser.”

“The Great Canadian Barn Dance Band always puts on a great family event,” says Glenn Coulter, President of the Friends of the Galt Museum & Archives. “The proceeds from this event will again benefit youth educational programming at the Galt.”

Tickets are $30 for adults, $20 for youth 11–17, and children under 10 are welcome to attend and dance for free with their parents. Tickets can be purchased at the front desk of the Galt, by calling the front desk at 403.320-3954, or online at www.galtmuseum.com/tickets.

If there are tickets available on the day of the dance, they can be purchased at the door, but I wouldn’t count on it!
