Paul Seesequasis explains the importance of James Brady’s photographs from Glenbow’s collections. Brady’s photographs captured individual and community Métis and Cree life in Alberta and Saskatchewan from the 1930s to 1960s. The photographs are evidence of Brady’s deep attachment and commitment to the dignity and rights of Métis peoples at a time of impoverishment and denial of rights by provincial and federal governments.

Enclosing Some Snapshots: The Photography of Métis Activist James Brady is curated by Paul Seesequasis, and Circulated by Glenbow.
