Awesome Pets! A Community Exhibit

For most pet owners, their dog, bird, cat, ferret or lizard add a great deal of pleasure to their lives. In fact, many pets become a part of the family. They bond with human members of the family with the wag of a tail, purring and rubbing, playful antics or just their presence in the house. They demand attention and care and someone has to pick up after them or clean the paper in the cage.

The Galt will include some artifacts and photos from its collection but asks members of the southwestern Alberta community to send us a good quality colour or black and white photo (print or digital), or a short video (60 sec. max.) along with a story about the pet (maximum 150 words). These will be displayed in the main floor hallway at the Galt Museum & Archives October 19, 2013 to February 22, 2014.

To give the museum time to prepare all the submissions we need to receive them by Friday, September 20, 2013. Please send to wendy.aitkens@galtmuseum.com or drop your image off at the front desk of the Galt Museum & Archives, 502-1 St. South, Lethbridge, AB during hours of operation; Monday to Wednesday and Saturday from 10 am to 5 pm, Thursday from 10 am to 9 pm, Sunday and holidays from 1 pm to 5 pm. Photos and stories must be appropriate for a family audience.
