LOCATION

The Galt Museum & Archives is located at 502 - 1st St S [at the west end of 5th Avenue South off Scenic Drive] in Lethbridge, Alberta, overlooking the Lethbridge coulees with a spectacular view of the CPR High Level Bridge, with access to the parks and walking paths of the Oldman River valley.

From Highway 3 eastbound at 1st Avenue South exit [2.0 km – about 3 mins]

1. Head southeast toward 1 Ave S 1.0 km
2. Merge onto 1 Ave S 0.4 km
3. Turn right at Scenic Dr S 0.4 km
4. Turn right at 4 Ave S 0.2 km
5. Turn left into Galt Museum parking lot at end of 4 Ave S

From Highway 3 westbound at 43rd Street South [6.2 km – about 7 mins]:

1. Head southwest on Crowsnest Hwy W/HWY-3 W 4.7 km
2. Take the Scenic Dr exit toward City Centre 0.3 km
3. Turn left at Scenic Dr N/Scenic Dr S
4. Continue to follow Scenic Dr 1.0 km
5. Turn right at 4 Ave S 0.2 km
6. Turn left into Galt Museum parking lot at end of 4 Ave S

From Highway 5 northbound and Higway 4 northbound [5.8 km – about 7mins]:

1. Head west on Scenic Dr S 5.6km
2. Turn left at 4 Ave S 0.2 km
3. Turn left into Galt Museum parking lot at end of 4 Ave S

PARKING

Please use the 4th Avenue turn-off from Scenic Drive, at the Lethbridge Lodge, and proceed west to the end of the Avenue and the Galt Museum parking lot to your left.

The entrance to the Galt Museum is on the north side of the building, facing the High Level Bridge, and is marked ENTRANCE.

Museum parking is free for visitors.

Accessible parking is indicated by vertical signage and symbols painted in the designated stalls. more information on accessiblity>>

PUBLIC TRANSIT

Lethbridge Transit Routes 12, 14 and 22 stop at Scenic Drive and 5 Avenue South, just opposite the museum. Passengers on other routes can transfer downtown to Route 12 and disembark at the 4 Avenue South stop in front of The Bay for a brief walk to the Galt. BICYLCES

There are several bike racks outside the Galt where you can lock up your bike. We have lockers in our cloakroom for your helmets etc. Our location adjacent the Oldman River Valley trails makes for a great day of riding!
